Dave and Laura Dowler

The Waveside community has a passion for people to encounter the freedom and restoring power of God in every facet of their lives. This passion is one Dave and Laura have shared as a couple for nearly 40 years. The Dowlers served in a variety of leadership capacities within the local church before pioneering Waveside in 2008.

Waveside exists to equip and dispatch culture-transformers with a passion for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven. We welcome you to experience God’s unconditional love and restoring power within this family we call Waveside.

Church is not an institution, building or event. The local Church is a diverse Christ-centered community who worships Yahweh/God, does life together and anchors its trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ with the mission of encouraging others to do the same. – Pastor Dave

Our Sunday Worship is a faith-filled celebration of God’s goodness! Live music, practical insights from God’s Word, and the opportunity to receive prayer all take place during our time together. Following music children, preschool through 5th grade, are released to Waveside Kids where they learn about God’s love through engaging lessons and activities. On the second Sunday of every month our middle and high school students meet up following music with Waveside Youth to build friendships and deepen their relationship with Jesus. It all gets underway at 10:10AM at the Malibu Elementary School and YOU are invited!

*Due to a new school policy the front parking lot will only be accessible from 9:45AM-10:10AM. If you arrive before or after that time frame parking is still available along Fernhill and Grayfox Drives. We apologize for this inconvenience.

BELIEFS

The Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our every day lives. (Psalm 19:7-11; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

The Bible is the final authority for all matters of faith and conduct. (Isaiah 40:8; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12)

There is one God who is the Creator of all things and is eternally existent in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; John 14:18-26)

Man was created in God’s image, but is separated from God by sin. Our only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21)

Jesus was born fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary. (John 1:14; Philippians 2:7-8)

Jesus suffered and was crucified to pay the price for our sins and to undo the works of the devil. (Galatians 3:13; I John 3:8; Colossians 2:14,15)

Salvation and forgiveness of sins is only received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:17; Ephesians 2:8-9; I John 1:7-9)

Our eternal destination is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16-18, 5:24)

In order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts. (Mark 16:16, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, Galatians 5:22-23).

Divine healing; physical, emotional and spiritual is included in the atonement of Christ. (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:17; I Peter 2:24)
